Fiserv opens center in Costa Rica

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fiserv Global Services (FGS), the offshoring arm of Fiserv, provider of information technology services to the financial services industry worldwide, has announced it has opened a new global delivery center in Costa Rica.

The new center is part of the company’s growth strategy in countries outside the US focused on leveraging talent available in other countries, Fiserv said in a statement.

The new center will provide software development, BPO and technical support services to Fiserv and its customers, especially in the banking industry. The center currently employs around 80 professionals and this is expected to grow substantially in the months to come.

With this, FGS now has five global delivery service centers in two countries outside of the US. Four existing centers are in India employing more than 1,500 professionals, Fiserv said in a statement.

Dr Arun Maheshwari, president, Fiserv Global Services Group, said, “The new global services delivery center in Costa Rica is integral to our growth strategy and acts both as a near shore center to the US and as alternate source of quality people. We have ambitious expansion plans for our center in Costa Rica and we will also continue our geographical expansion to other lower cost countries in the next few years.”

In addition to the Costa Rica center, Fiserv Global Services Group is also considering opening other global sites in areas like the Ukraine and Poland.
