The country is under complete lockdown of 21 Days. It is obvious that people are working from home, binge-watching TV series and movies and playing online games to pass their time. Thus, they need internet for it. Jio Free Recharge would definitely be a blessing. But what if it is not true?

During this time period, a message has started doing rounds on WhatsApp. The message, as quoted by Amar Ujala, was:

"इस कठिन परिस्थिति में दे रहा है सभी इंडियन यूजर को 498 रुपए का फ्री रिचार्ज, तो अभी नीचे दी गई लिंक पर क्लिक करके अपना फ्री रीचार्ज प्राप्त करें…https://jionewoffer.onli.. कृपया ध्यान दे: यह ऑफर केवल 31 March तक ही सिमित है!"

The message translates to-

"In these difficult times, Jio is offering a free recharge of Rs 498 to all Indian users. To avail this free recharge, click on the link https://jionewoffer.onli.. below. Please note that this offer is valid till 31st March only."

While such news sounds very appealing, we checked the facts and found that it is fake. This news is completely fake and no comment has been issued by any official authority or jio website. You can check the jio website for more news. This could be a scam and it is advisable to stay away from it and report fake news at nofakenews@dbcorp.in.
