Xiaomi in partnership with HRX announces the Mi Band HRX edition

Xiaomi has partnered with Hrithik Roshan's HRX brand to announce the arrival of the HRX Mi fitness band. The device is said to deliver a 23-day battery life and comes with an improved tracking algorithm and splash resistant capability.

The Mi band HRX edition sports an OLED display that shows time, steps, distance covered and calories burnt. It has a pedometer for more accuracy in steps and also alerts you if you have been idle for too long. It can also monitor calories burnt and users' sleep patterns with the high-speed accelerometer, and digital heart rate monitor, as well as display notifications including those of incoming calls or text messages. The device also unlocks your paired Android device without the need to put a passcode or fingerprint.

“Partnering with Xiaomi to launch the Mi Bands – HRX Edition is an opportune decision as they are in sync with our philosophy. I believe that this will be the next Best Buy for all fitness enthusiasts,” said Hrithik Roshan, Founder, HRX.

“Mi Band 2 was an extremely popular product for Xiaomi in India and with Mi Band – HRX Edition, we decided to invest in the product further to take our vision of innovation for everyone one step ahead,” Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India said.

It is IP-67 rated which means that the new device is water resistant and connects through Bluetooth 4.0. The device weighs only 7gm, but without the rubber strap. The Mi band HRX edition is priced at Rs 1,299 and is available exclusively from September 18 on, and Mi Home offline stores. It will also be sold on Myntra, Flipkart, and Amazon starting September 20.
