So, what are the reasons that students have given in these petitions to ask to cancel compartment exams 2020?

1. Rising COVID-19 cases

There is no denying that we are getting over 40k new cases in India every day. If students sit for an exam, they are socially exposed and no one is willing to risk their lives like that. Moreover, even if one student tests positive, what will be the consequences? Meanwhile, the students have also said that CBSE shouldn't risk students live for one subject or 2-3 marks.

2. Passing students who have not even given exams; Give averages on 3 best out 5 subjects

One of the petition says, "Some of the students of CBSE Class 12th have been passed based on two or three subjects. They did not even give the exams, so they might have failed in these exams if they would have given a try. Then why can't the students who have tried and attempted can be passed on the same basis?"

3. Mental Stress

The petitioner also seeks that aggregate marks be given based on 3 out of 5 subjects, in which the student has passed.

5. Ignorance on part of decision-makers

While MHRD and CBSE took decisions for Class 10th and 12th Main Exams, how did they forget that there are reappearing students as well? The Petitions on "Cancel Compartment Exams 2020" seek to bring the issue in the eyes of these authorities.

6. The lag between studies, and unavailability of teachers

One of the petition even stated that they have not been studying regularly for 4 months because teachers are busy teaching other grades. In that case, how does CBSE propose to teach them?
