The Snapdragon 845 processor is expected to feature a 10 nm manufacturing process, like the 835 processor. Qualcomm says that it will pair the 845 processor with its latest X20 LTE modem which provides gigabit connectivity on supported networks. The company didn't give many details about the processor but said Samsung's foundry business will be manufacturing the chip.

Additionally, the company also announced support for Android Oreo (Go edition). Google launched the Android Oreo (Go edition) for mobile phones with less storage and RAM.

“We are excited to implement Android Oreo (Go edition) within the Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform family as it will enable consumers around the world to experience a more robust operating system for lower cost smartphones,” said Nancy Fares, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies. She further added, “Android Oreo (Go edition) delivers an optimized Android user experience key for emerging regions where the lower bill of materials costs are especially attractive, as well as in established regions for pre-paid and lifeline uses.”

Android Oreo(Go edition) is expected to be running on devices based on Qualcomm mobile platforms in early 2018.
