“When we began developing the OnePlus 5, we envisioned a smartphone with flawlessly smooth performance. We are proud to announce the OnePlus 5 will feature the Snapdragon 835 processor, which sets the foundation for smooth, powerful, and efficient performance,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO, OnePlus, in a blog post.

Launched in January, the Snapdragon 835 is designed to support next-generation entertainment experiences and connected cloud services for premium consumer and enterprise devices.

To be accurate, OnePlus 5 is not the first smartphone with Snapdragon 835. Samsung did add the latest chip in its S8 flagship, but only for the USA & China users. The Indian variant is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 processor. Hence, OnePlus 5 would be the first phone with Snapdragon 835 in India.

OnePlus has also confirmed that it will be working with DxoMark to deliver one of the best camera experiences on a flagship device.

"We're driven to perfect even the smallest aspects of our products. And when you get your hands on the OnePlus 5, we hope you'll notice the difference. Never Settle," Lau further concluded.
