Updated corrections on Vaccine Certificate via Cowin will appear on final certificate

COVID Vaccination Phase III will begin from May 1, the vaccine registration for those aged 18+ will begin today at 4 PM. Indians can register on the CoWIN platform or the Aarogya Setu app starting today, to get vaccinated from May. In fact, we must know that all appointments have to be made in advance, as there is no walk-in facility available; that is, unlike in Phase I and II, only self-registration is allowed in Phase III.

The Centre will continue to vaccinate those declared eligible so far - frontline workers, health workers and those above 45.

Where is Vaccine Registration for 18-plus aged Indians happening?

Indians can register on the CoWIN platform or the Aarogya Setu app starting today, to get vaccine shots from May 1.

CoWIN is a platform for the citizens of India to Register for COVID-19 vaccination and schedule their vaccination slots at the nearest vaccination centres. The Aarogya Setu is a mobile app from the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in our combined fight against COVID-19. The app provides all the Government of India initiatives from the Department of Health. It also reaches out to and informs the users regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories on the containment of COVID-19.

For the vaccine, users can even register through the Umang App. Both the Aarogya Setu and UMANG app are available on the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App Store.

Currently, the Indian Government is providing two vaccines - Bharat Biotech's Covaxin and Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield. The Serum Institute of India (SII) is manufacturing both vaccines. Accordingly, users can check the vaccination centres close to them and register. Here is the step by step guide:

How to do Vaccine Registration on the CoWIN website?

Visit the CoWIN official website and click on the 'Register Yourself' tab. Then, log in with your mobile number. Alternatively, you can also sign in with your Aarogya Setu or Umang account. After you enter your mobile number, click on the Get OTP tab and enter the OTP and verify.

Note that you need to register for the COVID vaccine on the CoWIN Website and not the app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

After you have verified your mobile number, the 'Registration for Vaccination' page will open where you have to enter your personal details, such as name, age, gender and photo ID proof. You can use your Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport or even Driver's Licence. After that, the page will verify if you have any symptoms for COVID 19 which you have to answer in yes or no.

Click on the 'Register' button at the bottom right after you enter all the details. Post-confirmation, you can schedule your appointment to get the vaccine for COVID 19 as per your wish. Just enter the pin code of your area or select from the list of states, followed by districts. Select a vaccination centre, date and time and click "Confirm".

As for the second dose, you have to also schedule your second dose appointment. Through manual registration, the CoWIN system will help you book an appointment in a Vaccination Centre where you can find the same vaccine type (COVAXIN or COVISHIELD) as the 1st dose.

How to do Vaccine Registration on the Aarogya Setu App?

On the Aarogya Setu app homepage, go to the 'CoWIN' tab. There, you will see four options - Vaccine Information, Vaccination, Vaccination Certificate, Vaccination Dashboard. Tap on the "Vaccination" tab and then select the "Register Now" option. After that, go through the same process as mentioned in CoWIN Vaccine Registration. The only difference here is, that you can register a maximum of 4 beneficiaries through the Aarogya Setu app.

Once you have registered successfully, you will receive an SMS with the appointment details.
