Adv Shakti Pandey (over video-conferencing) argued that CBSE shouldn't take compartment exams during the Pandemic. This risks the lives of over 2 lakh students and their families. On the other hand, if they keep on delaying the exams, they are wasting a year of these students' careers. Furthermore, since the plea asked to provide grace marks, Adv Shakti Singh also argued that students should be given provisional certificates based on their best 3 subjects, as it was done to Main Exams students.

A Student told CIOL that she and some of her friends qualified the entrance exams of many colleges. "Many colleges started their registration processes. I even qualified in two. But I don't know if I will get admission because of the 3 marks compartment in my science exam," she said.

As the exam dates keep on pushing, the students have stormed Twitter and Facebook with pleas, hashtags and creative videos to make their voices heard.

Until now, CBSE chose not to respond, but after the Supreme Court Order, it will have to break its silence and come up with a solution within this week.

What are the options with CBSE?

As it is near impossible to take exams, CBSE will have to pass the students. It can award provisional certificates and take exams on a later date, but the solution may be temporary.

On the other hand, students, who wish to go for corrective exams, will have a huge setback and it may affect them poorly. As to what CBSE will do for the compartment Exams students, we will only know in the coming week.
