Airtel Business appoints Harish Laddha as CEO – Emerging Business

Airtel Business, the B2B unit of Bharti Airtel, has appointed Harish Laddha as CEO of Emerging Business. Harish will report to Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO – Airtel Business. In his new role, Harish will be responsible for identifying and leveraging growth opportunities in emerging categories such as the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment. He will lead a dedicated team to bring to market highly differentiated offerings for these emerging segments.

Welcoming Harish on board, Ajay Chitakara said, “As the Indian economy evolves over the next decade, the SMB segment, in particular, offers a massive opportunity to enable the digital transformation of tens of millions of traditional business. Airtel Business with its end to end portfolio is well-positioned to serve the requirements of these businesses. About Harish Laddha

Harish Laddha is an alumnus of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from MIT, Pune. Harish has over 25 years of rich experience, across Ingram Micro, Tata Communications and Tech Pacific. In his last role, he was the Executive Director – India Sales at Ingram Micro. Here, he was responsible for driving a $3B+ annual revenue stream. Before leading Sales, as the Director for Ingram’s Cloud business in India, he built the business from the ground up.

Airtel Business clocked Rs 14.407 crore in revenues for FY ended March 2021. It is, according to a statement from the company, India’s largest player in the B2B connectivity space and its portfolio includes Cloud, Data Center, IoT, Cyber Security and Ad Tech.

Recently, Airtel announced its bundled services viz., One Bill for All Services – Airtel Black. The company announced that due to increasing needs for at-home high-speed data and seamless connectivity, India needed a holistic approach to telecom packs. Multiple bills, multiple payments on multiple dates and difficulty in managing services from multiple local service providers, complained many of its customers. Thus, with Airtel Black, its users can bundle two or more of Airtel services (Fiber, DTH, Mobile) together. The plans start as low as Rs 998 per month.
