The Director-General, NTA Vineet Joshi also said that there will be no changes in the exam pattern of JEE Main 2021. The committee will decide the exam dates according to the CBSE 12th Board timetable.

So what changes?

The delay in the exams is the direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Till a vaccine comes out (now that there's hope), the government will not be keen on opening schools, or colleges. This results in a delayed year. Understandably, the academic year affects one of the most important entrance exams for class 12 students. But on a flip side, the CBSE has reduced the syllabus by 30%. So, students have to study less. Thus, a month delay instead of exam postponement is a win-win situation.

Even now, schools are looking to complete the syllabus of CBSE board exams via online classes. The delay will only cause the academic session of 2021-22 to begin as late as September-October 2021.
