Aadhaar Card is a 12-digit individual identification number from Unique Identification of India (UIDAI) via the GoI. You, a resident of India, can have Aadhaar as an ID card through your biometric and demographic data.

UIDAI offers several services with Aadhaar through its online portal. One of these features is that it allows you to get back your aadhaar card number if you have lost it. Often people lose their Aadhar cards and don't have an extra copy. Thus, you can use this service to get the number and download a new aadhaar card.

How to Retrieve (get back) Lost or Forgotten Aadhaar EID/UID?

Step 1: Click on this retrieve EID/UID link.

2: Select Aadhaar No (UID)/Enrolment ID (EID) and then type your full name.

3. Enter the registered mobile number or the registered email ID. (The mobile number will be an easier option than email, though.)

4. Enter the captcha and click on SEND OTP.

5. You will receive a 6-digit OTP on the mobile number or the email ID.

6. Enter it, and you will get a message or email, with the lost Aadhaar Card number.

You can use this number to download your new Aadhaar Card, check update status, have an e-copy, etc.
