Social media has often been considered the best place for celebrity-fan interaction. But lately, it seems it has worked great for brands, not for celebrities.
Joining the long list of celebrities who escaped the world of social media, is Demi Lovato, an American singer, song writer and model.
Demi Lovato left Twitter and Instagram when the fans of Mariah Carey trolled Demi after she defended her friend Ariana Grande over an Instagram meme comparing the two singers.
Damn I gotta quit sayin shit. Bye Twitter

Over the years, artists including Sam Smith, Zayn Malik, Azealia Banks, Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, Halsey, Kanye West, deadmau5, Ed Sheeran and Nicki Minaj have all gone off the social radar. Though some have returned days, weeks or even months later, others have handed off their accounts to managers or switched from personal banter to business-related messages only. Miley Cyrus took a break from Twitter in 2009. In a YouTube video, she raps: "I want my private life private, I’m living for me.” Sinead O’Connor left social media after receiving "too much abuse." However, she returned later that year with an alert saying,"All received tweets will be previously read and filtered by my assistant so A-holes don't get passed on to me." Adele took a break from social media after giving birth and being targeted by trolls who joked about her weight, postpartum depression and murdering her baby.
The reason i don't tweet as much as i use to, is because I'm sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter :)

Ed Sheeran chose Facebook to say goodbye,“I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes.”
But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.

Do you agree with these celebrities? Is social media facing the music?
