This course, as explained in the announcement, will help students and learners become better equipped for the thousands of jobs across India and the world that require understanding of the basic toolkit for any signal processing application - the abstraction of signals and systems, from the point of view of analysis and characterization.

“We are excited to announce the launch of the two part course of Signals and Systems by IIT Bombay on the edX platform,” said Anant Agarwal, CEO, edX. “India is an important market for us, and is home to the largest population of edX learners outside of the United States. We are pleased that IIT Bombay has launched its courses on our platform. Systems and Signals Part 1 and 2 are excellent courses which can help learners around the world. ”

EdX, which is a nonprofit, open-source enterprise offering online courses, states that it offers more than 160 courses in many areas of study, including the arts and humanities, public health, law, math, and computer science. More than 400 faculty and staff teach on the edX platform, and over 130,000 certificates have been earned by edX students.  It was founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is focused on transforming online and on-campus learning through groundbreaking methodologies, game-like experiences and cutting-edge research on an open-source platform, it stresses.
