Social gaming company, Zynga - which has a developer agreement with the popular social networking website - has decided to take down 11 games, including PetVille, FishVille and Treasure Isle, out of the 13 titles it plans to shut down, based on the changes made to the agreement.

Among them, these games have an active monthly user base of around 2 million. It is speculated that surge of mobile devices hampered Zynga's penetration into the market.

Gaming enthusiasts, however, need not lose hopes. From now on, Facebook can develop its own games, even as Zynga ought not have FB advertisements or credit the social network.

It is learnt that Farmville and a few other popular games offered by Zynga on FB would continue to be available sans the ability to feature cross promotions.

Interestingly, Zynga had been responsible for generating nearly 15 per cent of Facebook's revenues in 2011.
