Zvi Lando is SolarEdge's VP global sales

HERTZLIA, ISRAEL: SolarEdge Technologies, an innovative solar power harvesting start-up, announced the appointment of Zvi Lando to the position of vice president of global sales. In this capacity, Lando will direct worldwide sales efforts for the company, which is set to unveil its highly anticipated power harvesting system this week at Intersolar Munich 2009, taking place May 27-29.

“Zvi has an impressive track record of success in the semiconductor and solar industries, involving years of work with customers and employees in North America, Asia and Europe, making him a key addition to SolarEdge’s executive team," said Guy Sella, chairman, CEO and founder of SolarEdge. "Zvi’s seasoned expertise, technical savvy and strategic relationships will benefit SolarEdge immensely as we continue to make rapid progress in sharing our power harvesting advancements with every player in the value chain: from PV panel manufacturers, to integrators, distributors and end customers.”

Lando joins SolarEdge from Applied Materials where he served as vice president, general manager of the Baccini Cell Systems (BCS) Solar Business Group. Prior to that, Mr. Lando was appointed in 2008 as the first Applied Materials general manger for the BCS division based on Applied Materials’ acquisition of Baccini Spa, the global leader in screen printing equipment for the solar industry.

Lando began his Applied Materials tenure in 1993 as a process engineer on semiconductor Chemical Vapor Deposition equipment. Along the way, he has held management positions in technology, customer service, marketing, sales and general management. From 2001 to 2007, he served as business manager of the Process Diagnostics & Control (PDC) division of Applied Materials, leading its market and revenue growth globally, and specifically, in China and Japan.
