ZTE unveils next generation PON equipment

BANGALORE, INDIA: ZTE Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has rolled out the world’s first Next Generation PON equipment – the ZXA10 C300 multi service access platform.

The ZXA10 C300 was launched today at EXPO COMM ITALIA 2008 where ZTE also showed the rest of its range of Green Broadband solutions as well as the ZXMSG 6000 multi-service access gateway, the micro DSLAM ZXDSL 9812 and the company’s Broadband Easyservice system, said a press release.

The ZXA10 C300 is a green, converged, future-proof, high capacity, multi service access platform, said the release. It is the world’s first unified platform supporting GPON, EPON and P2P as well as the emerging next generation IEEE 10G-EPON and FSAN/ITU-T NG-PON in a single shelf.

It features high capacity, long reach and high integration, meeting the requirements of the largest central offices.

ZTE had also unveiled the world’s first hybrid TDM/WDM PON prototype based on All-Optical Wavelength Conversion (AOWC) this September in Shanghai and demonstrated the prototype of the world’s first 10G-EPON system just one month later in Beijing.
