ZTE sales volume jumps 50pc in 2010

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Networking equipment maker ZTE announced that its total annual sales volume of terminal products has jumped almost 50 percent, to a record 90 million units in 2010.

ZTE’s terminal product sales experienced growth both in the international and domestic markets.

Europe emerged as the fastest-growing market with a year-on-year sales growth of 150 percent, whereas, the US market achieved a year-on-year growth of 100 percent.

Globally, the rapid adoption of high-end smartphones promoted the ZTE brand across various markets.

Moreover, ZTE also came up with ZTE Light, a 7-inch tablet PC with a voice call capability, in 2010 and its mobile broadband products, including the Light tablet, achieved 80 percent year-on-year sales growth in 2010.

ZTE is expected to sell 120 million units of all its terminal products globally in 2011. The company plans to improve it global branding and to become one of the top three handset vendors worldwide in five years’ time.
