ZTE and Gujarat signs MoU for smart cities in Gujarat

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Gujrat has signed MoU with ZTEsoft, a provider of telecom software, solutions and services, a subsidiary of ZTE Corporation to build smart cities in the state.

“Government of India has approved 7 smart cities in Gujarat and we are eager to move fast on this project,” said Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.

As part of the agreement, both the teams will work together to setup a trial project in Gujarat. The project focus will be on upgrading the existing cities in Gujarat by using technology to smart city.

Xu Shan, CFO ZTEsoft said that ZTE has experience of five years developing smart city model and have worked for about 40 countries, 110 cities projects all over the world.

“We have developed many smart cities in China namely Yinchuan, Ningbo, Nanzing, Wuhan, Taicang. We have same culture, same demography as India has. Therefore, we are sure to provide better city, better services and better life,” she added.
