Zoom Tech ties up with Cyclades

HYDERABAD: Zoom Technologies has tied up with US-based Cyclades Corporation to promote and implement the latter’s networking products in Andhra Pradesh (AP). The company is targeting its products towards the small to medium enterprises, data centers and Internet Service Providers.

The US-based company is going to facilitate its products, PC 300 and PC 400, within the AP region. PC 300, ‘the router killer’, is used to convert a PC into a router and PC 400, ‘digital Remote access server killer’, converts a PC into a digital remote access server. "Both these solutions are targeted at small to medium business houses and are going to help the entrepreneurs to build cost effective networking solutions," said, Cyclades, Asia Pacific Marketing Manager Buddy Cruz.

The Cyclades-PC400 is a digital PCI adapter that turns a PC server into a digital Remote Access Server. It connects to one or two T1/E1/PRI trunks and has built-in digital modems. The adapter is PCI half-size and has very low power consumption. "System Integrators and Internet Service Providers can use the PC400 to build flexible and cost-effective RAS solutions taking advantage of commodity hardware and Open Source software," Cruz informed.






The Cyclades-PC300 is a PCI adapter for synchronous serial connectivity. It combines the latest in hardware and software technology to provide WAN connectivity to servers with maximum efficiency. It can replace an access router and connect a remote office using a standard PC server with cost and management advantages and without sacrificing performance. It can also be used to build advanced communication systems based on industry-standard components.





"In India we are making this available in three different models to better satisfy the needs of a organization. It can be connected to leased lines or switched networks either through external devices or direct connection to the communication line," he added.


The PC300 can be installed in any server or communication system with PCI slots. Because it provides a standard interface and integrates with the Operating System, it is easy to add functionality (such as firewall, security, custom protocols, etc) to a system built with the PC300 and other industry-standard components.





The turnover of the company last year was $150 million and it is quite confident of doubling the figure for this year.
