ZILS to tie up with varsities for IT courses

HYDERABAD: Zee Interactive Learning System, a subsidiary of Zee Telefilms, is

tying up with universities in the country to provide various certification and

degree courses in the area of information technology.

"We are already in advanced stage of talks with the University of

Lucknow to provide courses in IT education," said Zee interactive marketing

vice president A S Gujral.

"ZED CA, a division of ZILS, which has been created to cater to

individual needs in the field of IT education, has merged all the mediums of

education ranging from print to electronic media, the fast emerging Internet to

the individual contact classroom," he explained.

The company has also introduced I-Cell technology, which combines physical

classroom with the interactive classroom. Students can now avail the benefit of

live sessions by IT experts in the advanced stream of IT education.

Denying the economic downturn in the US and the world has in any way affected

the bottomlines of Zee Interactive, he said the company has been able to

maintain a growth rate of 20-25 per cent. He also added that the company is

going to diversify into the fast growing field of IT-enabled services.

The company has already chalked out its expansion plans for the UP region. It

plans to increase the number of centers in UP from present 36 to 60 by the end

of 2002.
