Founded in 1979, Computer Shopper has long been an authoritative voice in the hardware and software industries. It was initially a print publication and is today a website, which attracts over 1.5 million unique visitors per month.

The website has also been a preferred destination for technology enthusiasts and has played a critical role in guiding them in their purchase decisions.

Computer Shopper was originally bought by Ziff Davis in 1993 and was sold to CNET in 2001. SX2 Media Labs, which purchased Computer Shopper from CNET in 2006, is now selling it back to Ziff Davis.

''ComputerShopper.com perfectly fits our mission to inform and influence buyers of technology," said Vivek Shah, CEO of Ziff Davis.

The acquisition marks a further development in Ziff Davis' reinvention as an online information clearinghouse serving the tech industry -- and its fifth acquisition since the beginning of 2011.

ComputerShopper.com joins PCMag.com, ExtremeTech.com, Geek.com, Toolbox.com and LogicBuy.com in Ziff Davis' group of owned-and-operated Web properties.
