Yokogawa Blue Star wins Rs 6.5 crore KPCL contract

BANGALORE: Yokogawa Blue Star Ltd. (YBL) has been awarded a contract by KPCL,

for Supply and Installation of DCS based C and I package for their 210 MW unit

seven at Raichur Thermal Power Station.

The contract, worth Rs. 6.5 crores, involves the supply of DCS with ergonomic

CRT based operator interface and with matching field and control room

instrumentation. Implementation of performance calculations and station

monitoring are some of the unique features in the package.

According to a media release from the company, "The project is being

planned to be completed within a period of 6 to 9 months. We have bagged this

contract against stiff competition from companies like ABB, BHEL, Tata Honeywell

and Siemens."

This is the fourth consecutive time KPCL has chosen YBL as a partner for

supply of state-of-the-art C and I package at Raichur TPS complex. YBL had

earlier executed similar packages for Units of three, four, five and six.
