Yemen votes for new biometric IT for upcoming elections

ATLANTA, USA: M2SYS Technology, a player in biometric identification management solutions, announced that the country of Yemen is currently deploying their TrueVoter biometric voting platform for the upcoming constitutional referendum and national elections.

TrueVoter, as explained here, is a scalable and customizable software package that allows the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) to deploy and maintain a comprehensive biometric information system that allows for the fast, accurate, and uncontested enrollment and identification of voters.

M2SYS adds it was able to secure the contract due to TrueVoter's thorough functionality, including database management and a comprehensive analytics portal, combined with M2SYS' experience in working with prior biometric voter registration projects.

A credible voter registry is expected to reduce the number of electoral disputes, support the legitimacy of the voting process, and, by extension, boost public confidence in Yemen's democratic institutions. TrueVoter operates as a separate or integrated part of the main software to identify duplicate entries in the database and once the data collection is completed, the duplicate checking system allows users to find and cleanse duplicate entries with the synchronized database. It claims to include a broad adjudication functionality, a crucial part of the elections process.
