Yahoo takes on Twitter with Meme

BANGALORE, INDIA: As microblogging has become the way of life for the tech-crazy young generation, even the old timers are forced to 'think differently' to survive in this competitive world.

The search giant Yahoo which is trying hard to make its survival possible has taken a new step with a microblogging site Meme, as microblogging has become the new mode of communication. Similar to Twitter and other such micro blogging sites, the multilingual microblogging site currently works in invitation mode (so be quick to get your ID registered!).

The site was earlier launched in Portuguese and Spanish and now in English.

Once you get the invitation, you will get a blank blog for micro-sharing text, music, pictures, and videos. The site also enables you to include all of them at a single platform. As a Meme user, you can give a 100 word description and an avatar and also put comments after the posts. The site also offers the facility to search for other users using the Find option.

So a potential threat to Twitter, which is thinking hard how to generate revenue?
