TOKYO: Japanese Internet portal Yahoo Japan Corp. said on Thursday it would

seek shareholder permission for a buyback of up to 3,000 of its own shares worth

around 10 billion yen ($77.62 million).

Yahoo Japan, which is 32.2 per cent owned by US portal Yahoo! Inc. and 50.5

per cent by Japanese investment group Softbank Corp, said it would seek approval

for the buyback at a June 20 shareholders meeting.

But the company said it had not decided on the actual amount which it said
