Yahoo India names Arun Tadanki as MD

NEW DELHI: Yahoo! India, today announced the appointment of Arun Tadanki as managing director with the mandate for expanding and consolidating business also in sub continental Asia, Middle East and Africa and building on Yahoo!’s leading market position in this region.

Arun would be based out of Delhi and report to Keith Nilsson, senior vice president, Emerging Markets. He would be responsible for continuing the momentum of Yahoo! India and its properties, said a press release.

In addition, Arun would pilot Yahoo!’s business in the larger Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa towards stronger growth.

“Yahoo! India is on a winning streak with more users coming to our site every day to start their Internet experience,” said Nilsson. “I’m confident Arun’s leadership and solid experience across a broad range of business disciplines will usher in a new era of even more success for Yahoo! in India and the region. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Prior to joining Yahoo!, Arun was associated with Monster.com as president - Asia-Pacific and Middle East, where he was responsible for all aspects of the business. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and earned an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, the release added.

“Every day, millions of consumers across India and the region come to Yahoo! to find out what’s going on in the world, communicate with their friends and indulge in their passions,” said Arun.

He added that it is an incredibly exciting time to join Yahoo! and he would look forward to working with the team to take one of the world’s most loved brands to even greater heights.
