Yahoo buys Web advertising firm Dapper

LOS ANGELES, USA: Yahoo Inc on Tuesday acquired display advertising company Dapper in a move to bolster its ability to offer customized ads.

Dapper, which was founded in 2006, specializes in creating display advertisements that users can scroll or click through to find the offers that best meet their needs.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Frank Weishaupt, vice president of North America ad marketplaces at Yahoo, said in a statement that the acquisition of Dapper would help Yahoo "more efficiently deliver dynamic and personalized ads for customers across more of our network."

Dapper was founded by Eran Shir and John Aizen and it has offices in San Francisco, New York and Tel Aviv, Israel.
