Yahoo beats Google, gets maximum US web traffic

BANGALORE, INDIA: According to the recently released comScore Internet traffic data for September, Yahoo beats Google by the number of unique U.S. visitors it had last month. Out of the 225,271 million unique U.S. visitors last month, Yahoo websites recorded 197,774 million unique visitors, while Google recorded 191,448 million unique visitors.

For the third month in a row, Yahoo has managed to hold onto its top position in US. Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon sites has been ranked third, fourth and sixth with 170,549 million, 142,248 million and 110,863 million visitors respectively.

But Yahoo is still lagging far behind Google in making money from the websites visits. Research firm eMarketer estimates that Google will generate $38.83 billion in worldwide digital ad revenue in 2013 covering 33.24 percent market share. Facebook is at the second position with an estimated $5.89 billion which accounts for a meagre 5.04 per cent market share. Yahoo comes next to Facebook with $3.63 billion expected and that accounts for 3.10 per cent market share.
