YadaYada, Infy in worldwide partnership

BANGALORE: YadaYada, an integrated wireless service provider, has announced a

long-term worldwide strategic partnership with Bangalore-based Infosys

Technologies Ltd. The partnership envisages development of YadaYada’s core

technology needs for launching the first business and consumer Mobile Web Portal

for PDAs in the world.

Infosys will set up a team of over 100 consultants in the next 12 months for

YadaYada in the US, Europe and India for developing end-to-end wireless

solutions.

YadaYada was founded in 1999, to provide personalized wireless Internet

accesses for mobile users with PDA devices. Infosys is providing support in

implementing the core technology that will assist YadaYada in offering wireless

users the world’s first personalized mobile Web portal. The service allows

users access to any Web site in the world, synchronize their personal

information managers (PIM) and aggregate all personal information including

e-mail accounts, calendars, to do lists etc.

Commenting on this tie-up, YadaYada chief technology officer Amit Joshi said,

"Wireless Internet technology is fairly young - and wireless access to

Internet sites is even newer and more challenging. YadaYada is focused on

producing a reliable, robust and cutting edge technology platform for next

generation handheld devices. Infosys brings a strong track record of experience,

reliability and flexibility - and has proven its ability to work with the latest

technology."

According to Infosys board member and its worldwide sales and

marketing head Phaneesh Murthy, Infosys looks forward to providing the cutting

edge solutions in the wireless market by partnering with YadaYada by developing

the first truly integrated MWP and wireless ISP for PDA users the world over.

"Our aim is to provide complete solutions spanning both the applications

and wireless infrastructure area," he said.
