The Subscriber API provides an easy way for Web developers to include access to all the subscriber information, updates, content and other features offered by the Xtenit Platform directly from Web 2.0 type applications.

The Subscriber API is an XML request and response protocol for use in customized applications developed with JavaScript, portlets, and other Web 2.0 development tools. Implementations using the Subscriber API will automatically maintain session data for easy control of subscriber login activity and status.

Business Alerting Service, a new website for business professionals to track news and time sensitive business information, is one of the first users of the Subscriber API. The entire Web site was developed and customized without the need for database or content management systems beyond what is provided for in the Xtenit Platform.

"Web developers who need applications with restricted access to published content, personalized content selections, or simple registrations for newsletters and alerts are able to rapidly develop applications without the need to host their own databases and content management systems," said Brian McFadden CEO of Xtenit.

"The Xtenit Platform provides the complete back end infrastructure needed as well as a rich set of administrative tools for reporting, tracking, content management, subscriber database management, and email delivery," he added.
