Xerox unveils new strategy in India

NEW DELHI: Xerox Modicorp, the digital document company, has announced plans

to invest Rs 100 crore to further transform itself into next generation company,

in the next two to three years. The main focus will now be on solutions and

services, digital and networked offices and color printers.

The company will set up new solution centers in Delhi and outsource services,

training, telemarketing, supply chain management, MIS, legal and finance for

their employees and customers.

Speaking on the occasion, Xerox Modicorp chairman and managing director Pedro

Fabrega said, "We have the brand, technology, strong sales and service

capabilities, customer relationship and document management knowledge to move

beyond the box and take our customers up the value chain."

In the area of color, Xerox will fuel the migration from B&W to color. A

vast majority of the company's products will be color-enabled, while the

services segment would see the expansion of professional services, building the

outsourcing business and deployment of e- services.

The firm’s deputy managing director Mukund Abhyankar said, "The market

is moving from copying to printing and the two areas of fastest growth are color

printers and printing on multi- function digital devices and we will concentrate

on these areas as we move to increase our presence in the market."

To showcase the latest in networked digital document solutions and services,

Xerox is organizing the 'Docuworld India 2001' from September 19-20 in Mumbai.
