Xerox names new MD for India Business

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Rajat Jain has been named managing director of Xerox India Limited, the local operating company of Xerox Corporation.

Rajat will be responsible for leading Xerox India’s strategy implementation and business operations, including sales of products and services, marketing, brand recognition, and customer service operations for Xerox India Ltd. He assumes his Xerox role on 20 February.

“India is a country of vital importance to Xerox,” said Hervé Tessler, president, Xerox Corporation’s Developing Markets Operations, which includes India.

“With his deep knowledge of the local marketplace and the channel business model, Rajat will be able to build on Xerox’s strong leadership position in both technology and services. His aim will be to ensure more and more Indian companies can benefit from Xerox’s offers, which make it easier for them to get work done.”

He will focus on expanding Xerox’s channel presence and further strengthening Xerox’s partner relationships across India. He also will intensify the drive to bring Xerox’s services offers, including document outsourcing, to more companies in all key sectors of the Indian market. To deliver against these growth objectives, Rajat will oversee the development of Xerox India’s talent pool.

In a career spanning over 20 years, Rajat has worked in the consumer, telecom and media sectors in the Indian economy with both start-up organisations and established multinationals.
He joins Xerox from Mobile2win India, where he was managing director, CEO and non-executive chairman since 2007.
Prior to this Rajat was senior vice president and managing director for Walt Disney India and executive vice president at Sony Entertainment. He has held previous roles with ASC Enterprises, Benckiser and Hindustan Lever, the release added.

Rajat earned a post graduate degree from IIM, Ahmedabad, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology. He will be based in Gurgaon.

Xerox DMO is focused on Xerox Corporation’s growth opportunities in developing markets and countries around the world, including India, Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Eurasian countries, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, the release added.
