Xerox to launch BPS in December

CHENNAI: Xerox India Ltd (XIL) would launch their business process services (BPS) to help organizations manage its documents reengineered in electronic form.

Manish Soota, general manager - Business Innovation Services said, “BPS, which is expected to be launched by December 2005, would help organizations optimize and reengineer its business process and help have a less-paper office in place.

With more and more outsourcing happening in the fields of IT, BPO, manufacturing and Insurance in India, Xerox would be focusing on these, which would invest heavily on IT infrastructure and on electronic documentation too.”

XIL would target organizations, which have matured or maturing to have a digital conversion of the documents from paper to electronic version. This is apart from MNCs who would establish offices in India.

Xerox BPS division would focus on the large and medium enterprise segment and plans to target Indian cities in a phased manner. “Initially, we would launch the services in metros and later move on to other cities, which is predominant with mid-enterprises groups,” Soota said.

Xerox along with resellers, would also educate organizations on the importance of electronic documentation or conversion of printed or paper document to electronic version.

“Such a conversion would be helpful to those organizations who are present in multi-locations, which would ease the access of data from each location and make speedy reactions to the issues and fasten the decision making process,” Soota added.

Initially, Xerox BPS would focus on certain horizontal areas such as policy decisions, training, process management, and human resources documents, purchase orders, which are dynamic in nature and needs easy access of information from one location.

The BPS is part of the Xerox Global Services division, which provides a comprehensive range of output management services to office to optimize office, improve productivity and reduce total output costs.
