The automatic fare collection (AFC) system is the first global cloud-based travel and ticketing exchange, and services over 7 million passengers per annum. The system offers an end-to-end multi-channel avenue and validation solution that manages ticketing operations across six stations from the capital's transport hub to the international airports.

Replacing the existing magnetic stripe ticket with a QR Barcode Ticket, passengers enjoy seamless and faster ticketing services by accessing one channel to book their complete itinerary. Upon payment, passengers are provided with a universal ticket that is used throughout their journey. Other forms of electronic cards are VISA PayWave and Touch ‘n Go which can be used by passengers across all stations.

The key objective of the AFC system was to replace existing systems across all stations to an integrated solution that was economical, easy to maintain, scalable and designed to allow new stations to be added at any point with minimal effort.
