Though the file sharing websites which illegally uploaded the film claimed that the illegal download was nearly complete, high-quality copy, 20th Century Fox said it was an incomplete version with many missing.

"We immediately contacted the appropriate authorities and had it removed," the studio said in a statement. "The FBI and the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) also are actively investigating this crime.”

The studio said it would be able to determine the source of the leak, because of forensic marks.

Of late there were reports of many films and albums leaking on to the Internet. A few months back the unfinished version of a single from Britney Spears come back album ‘Circus’ has been leaked on YouTube, creating a storm.
