BANGALORE: WNS Global Services, Mumbai-based broad-based BPO company focused on travel, healthcare, airlines, and professional services space, has emerged as the No 1 BPO company in India, for the second year in succession, in a ranking released by Nassscom today, at the ITES-BPO summit being held in Bangalore.
Gecis was not considered in the ranking.
Wipro BPO comapny, earlier Spectramind, follows at No 2 position while HCL is at No 3 position.
The ranking shows significant improvement in performance by all IT companies subsidiaries such as Wipro BPO, HCL BPO, IBM Daksh, Mphasis BPO, Intelenet Global and Infosys subsidiary Progeon. Intelenet is a new entrant in the top ten club, while Progeon enters the ranking for the first time.
WNS at the top, Exl Services at No. 5, and ICICI Onesource at No. 8 are the pure play BPO companies who have done well.
Notable absentees include vCustomer.
The total revenue of the industry was $5.2 billion, of which 65 percent was accounted for by captives.
