New Update

UK: Leading British Smart Home technology developer LightwaveRF has introduced a new handheld remote which allows users to ‘lock' linked LightwaveRF Sockets, Dimmers and Plug-ins at the touch of a button to prevent them from being turned on or off manually.

Called the ‘Lightwave Locker', the compact handheld ‘zapper' can also be used to isolate these devices from the rest of the system to prevent control from any other hand held remote or Smartphone within range. The company say that this new facility will improve home safety concerns, particularly the possibility of access to mains sockets, electrical appliances and lamps by small children.

The Locker is just the latest element in the comprehensive LightwaveRF Connect Series, which allows complete control of home lighting, power and heating devices, using a hand held remote controller, or over the Internet using a Smartphone or Tablet. Home owners using this advanced family of wirelessly controlled devices can therefore select, schedule or control any linked device within the home environment from within the home, the office, the car, or anywhere in the world which has Internet access.

A major feature of the LightwaveRF Connect Series is that all these beautifully designed products use wireless RF signals for switching and control , are fully compatible with each other, and can be ‘retro-fitted' at any time. Any system can therefore be completely modular, allowing home owners to add as much or as little as they feel appropriate. Systems can be built up starting with just one socket or dimmer in one room, adding more elements over time to create an entire ‘Smart Home'.
