Wipro ties up with Kronos in workforce management

BANGALORE, INDIA: IT major Wipro today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Kronos Incorporated, a provider of workforce management solutions, to address key markets and business challenges in the realm of workforce management.

The alliance would leverage Wipro’s market leadership in enterprise applications service delivery in taking Kronos workforce management solutions to key targeted segments of Manufacturing, Services, Healthcare, Retail, Government and Public Sector.

Through the partnership, Kronos focuses to provide enhanced coverage and reach in India for providing workforce management solutions to organizations. It also plans to bring a broad range of solutions across HR and workforce management.

As part of the deal Wipro and Kronos would jointly work towards innovating new solutions and offerings for the Co-Innovation center of Wipro, Sangam.

It also announced that a Centre of Excellence (CoE) would be jointly established by Kronos and Wipro to address the challenges of controlling labor costs, minimizing compliance risk, and improving workforce productivity in India.

The CoE would create a Center of Expertise on Kronos and address issues such as how to keep pace with new technologies, enhance business, and offer optimized solutions based on right technologies, architectures, and frameworks.

Sairaman Jagannathan, vice president Business Solutions, Wipro, said, “Wipro is a leader in software services and provides leading state—of-the-art solutions, including IT applications in core areas of human resource management. We have established a new practice to take Kronos solutions to our customers across India.”

He added that the customers could immensely benefit from this relationship with Kronos and stand to gain from a host of applications intended to improve workforce management.

Dick Cahill, vice president and general manager, International Operations, Kronos, said, India is a very exciting emerging market for Kronos. “We are doing all we can to leverage our global leadership in workforce management to help organizations control labor costs, minimize compliance risk, and improve workforce productivity.”

James Thomas, country manager, India Operations for Kronos, added, “We are already doing sizeable business in the Manufacturing and Services industry segments and see strong early traction in the Healthcare, Government and Public Sector, and Retail segments.”

He added that they expected their relationship with Wipro to further accelerate engagements in these sectors in leading corporations in India and emerging markets.
