BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies, the software development unit of India's
diversified information technology firm Wipro Ltd, on Monday announced a range
of solutions for Bluetooth wireless technology standard.
Wipro said in a statement its suite of ready-to-use hardware and software
products and services would enable companies to integrate Bluetooth in their
products.
Named after Harald Bluetooth, the 10th century king credited with unifying
Denmark, the technology promises to link everything from computers to printers
to mobile phones within a radius of 10 meters (about 30 feet) via radio waves
rather than cables.
"We believe Bluetooth will be the future connectivity standard and we
are committed to providing solutions supporting this exciting technology,"
said Wipro technologies chief executive, telecom and inter networking solutions,
A L Rao.
Wipro's clients include Lucent Technologies, data warehousing and ATM
provider NCR Corp, communications equipment maker Nortel Networks and number one
