The center would provide consulting, software development and testing services to domestic and global companies in Australia. Wipro, which has operations in NSW and Victoria, launched its Australian operations in 2002.

“We are delighted that Wipro is setting up a center in NSW. Their investment decision reinforces the NSW government’s message to Indian IT companies that Sydney is a global city offering significant opportunities to Indian IT companies,” said Iemma.

“Wipro has a sharp focus on the Australian region and increasing our regional presence is one of the key strategies for growth in the future. The development center strengthens Wipro’s dominance in the region and integrates its Sydney operation with Wipro’s Global Delivery Model,” said Vaswani.

“Innovation will underpin the growth of the center as Wipro develops and delivers solutions adapted for the Australian market. We are also committed to nurturing local talent, recruiting and training local employees, including graduates,” said Mathur.
