Wipro rolls out desktops with new Intel chip

BANGALORE: Wipro Infotech, has launched a new SuperGenius 900 Series of desktop products with superior video and audio performance featuring the new Intel Pentium 4 processors supporting Hyper-Threading Technology (HT) and Intel 915 G Express Chipset.

Announcing the new SuperGenius 900 Series of desktops, Mr. Anil K. Jain, Head, Wipro PC Business, said, "The new SuperGenius demonstrates our commitment to our customers in bringing the latest technology from Intel.


The SuperGenius Desktop provides customers superior video and audio experience reflecting our objective of providing thoughtful technology to our customers."


The new SuperGenius 900 Series, powered by Intel Pentium 4 processor 550 with LGA 775pin package and Intel 915G chipset comes with a new business desktop look. Its other features include 512 MB DDR 400 memory, 80 GB Serial ATA drive, 15' TFT screen and in-built 1.44 MB floppy drive, DVD-CDRW combo drive.


"The new SuperGenius product features Intel's latest technologies like PCI Express, Intel High Definition Audio and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with superior video performance and Dual Independent Display support. This Latest SuperGenius 900 series of desktops support future operation systems and applications, designed for tomorrow's world. "We have extensively tested and validated the processor on the latest operating system at our Bangalore lab and promise our users superior performance," added Jain.


According to G.B. Kumar, Director, Sales (South Asia) Intel Technology(I) Pvt. Ltd, "these technologies are helping to create a new kind of PC, an all-in-one "hi-fi" device with high-definition video, high-fidelity sound and wireless connectivity."


"Intel innovation is taking the PC through a significant evolution that opens up a broader set of new consumer uses," Kumar said. "This evolution will help people to better enjoy digital music, photos, videos and games on PCs and other devices in and around the home. At the same time, the technologies we're introducing for the PC platform will help drive new uses that boost office productivity, such as using multiple monitors simultaneously connected to a single PC to track several projects at a time."


A trio of new Intel Express chipsets the "glue" between the microprocessor and the rest of the PC and several new Intel Pentium 4 processors supporting Hyper-Threading Technology (HT) are the foundation of these new platforms. PCs powered by Intel 915 G Express Chipset, formerly codenamed Grantsdale and Alderwood, became commercially available worldwide today.
