BANGALORE: Wipro Limited today categorically stated that it does not have a dating allowance in any form.
This followed after a section of the media reported that Wipro had received a summons from an Uttar Pradesh Court.
The summons was based on a complaint by the spouse of a Wipro employee, who alleged that the company was providing dating allowance to her husband.
“We would like to categorically state that we don’t have a dating allowance in any form and hence cannot elaborate on this alleged issue, Wipro said.
“We have no formal intimation on this. In line with our policy, we will take appropriate action based on the judgment of the case,” the company added.
The complainant had reportedly alleged that her husband was not visiting Kanpur as he was receiving dating allowance.
The Wipro employee is based out of Bangalore.
Industry sources suspect that some companies provide dating allowance to employees.
