Recently, the company had witnessed a hike in visa applications. “But continuously, there is some amount of sensationalisation in the press (regarding the issue), not necessarily the Indian press,” chuckled Premji, thereby attributing it to the issue being blown out of proportion by sections of the media.
According to the company’s chief financial officer Suresh Senapaty, there had been a three per cent hike in the wages of its onsite employees and 12 per cent for those offshore, effective June 1 this year.
