Wipro mulls setting up SDC in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR: Top officials of IT company Wipro headed by company VP Tamla Dasgupta visited Orissa and assessed the feasibility of setting up the company's software development center, informed state IT minister Suryanarayan Patra.





The team who landed at state capital Bhubaneswar on September 15 visited Kalinga Institute of Technology, The Silicon Institute of Technology, Info City and Fortune Tower to study the infrastructure. "Besides the team also visited a site near the Info City to study if the company can set up its center there," Patra added.





The team that includes GM-operation of Wipro Technologies Hariprasad Hegde also visited some more sites on September 16.





"The team also met the state chief minister Naveen Patnaik and suggested him to take up the issue of direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Bangalore with the central government, Patra said.
