Wipro loses 2 more executives

Two more senior executives have quit Wipro Ltd. Chief executive at Wipro Technology Solutions S. Janakiraman and Wipro Software and Services chief operating officer and president of enterprise solutions division V Chandrasekaran have put in their papers.



Wipro has announced that A. Laxman Rao, group vice president technology and quality, will take over as CEO of Wipro Technology Solutions. Mr Janakiraman is joining MindTree Consulting, an e-commerce and telecom software solutions start-up, set up recently by Ashok Soota and several other senior Wipro employees. He has been named president of MindTree Technologies, a newly launched division to focus on providing high-end software solutions for technology companies in the area of telecommunications and Internet appliances. According to a release, Mr Chandrasekaran was expected to join an unamed company as CEO.



Wipro has said that following the resignation of Mr Chandrasekaran, it would move towards a flat organisation. Wipro Chief Executives in the Retail and Utilities, Finance and Corporate Domains of Enterprise Solutions will now report directly to Vivek Paul, Vice Chairman, Wipro Ltd., in addition to his other direct reportees in the business segments of Electronic Commerce, Technology Solutions, Telecom, Healthcare and Global Interop Solutions.



Mr Rao is the principal architect of the Six Sigma Projects that successfully led the teams for both Enterprise Solutions and Technology Solutions to achieve SEI — CMM Level 5. He was the head of Wipro's research and development department for 13 years from 1981.
