Wipro listed on Dow Jones Sustainability Index

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) has chosen the Indian IT firm Wipro as its member, the latter said on Thursday.

DJSI, which tracks the financial performance of companies having outstanding sustainability conduct, selected Wipro, on the the basis of a rigorous evaluation of Wipro's sustainability performance on several dimensions, said a PTI report, citing a Wipro statement.

"At Wipro, sustainability is an integral part of our strategy and organisation ethic. Our inclusion in the DJSI is a clear and strong testimony to our commitment to sustainability and its key dimensions of ecology, transparency, good governance and active corporate citizenship," Wipro chief sustainability officer Anurag Behar was quoted as saying.
