Wipro launches Campus2Career

BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies has announced the launch of Campus2Career and also announced the winners for the KA Zone (Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra) and TN Zone (Tamil Nadu) of CodeZap Guru, a nationwide coding contest.

Campus2Career is an initiative to facilitate the transition of students from the academic world to the professional world, Wipro said in a statement.

Over 8000 students from 125 campuses participated in the CodeZap Guru, a multi-stage programming contest. The objective of this contest was to emphasize coding ability as a key competency area for fresh campus graduates, and thereby accelerate their entry into projects, the statement added.

Winners included Sony Francis Jose from Karnataka Zone and Koushik Narayanan from Tamil Nadu Zone, each of whom received a ‘Wipro Little Genius Laptop’ as the First Prize. Lawande Abijeet, Sapna Kotriwala, Rajput Gautam and Ranjit Kumar who stood second and third received an Imate PDA .

Rajesh Mishra, chief technology officer, Telecom and Product Engineering Solutions, Wipro Technologies, said, "Our goal is to help fresh graduates have sound knowledge of one operating system and one programming language. As a large player in the Indian software industry, Wipro is committed to encouraging programming ability as a key competency among engineering students.”
