MUMBAI: India's diversified information technology firm Wipro Ltd. on Friday
said its Wipro Infotech division has won a Rs 60 million ($1.29 million) project
from Karnataka Bank to upgrade its technology.
"Wipro will be responsible for setting up state-of-the-art data center,
consolidate server and storage requirements, set up a wide area network and
complete the entire system of integration for Karnataka Bank," it said in a
statement to the Bombay exchange.
Wipro shares closed Rs 59.6 higher at Rs 2,282.25 ahead of the announcement,
while the benchmark Bombay index dropped 0.27 per cent.
Its American Depositary Shares debuted on the New York Stock Exchange on
Thursday.
