Wipro to grow headcount in the Nordics by 500 over three years

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: and BANGALORE < INDIA: Wipro Ltd., a leading information technology, consulting and outsourcing company today announced plans to strengthen its presence in the Nordic region with an increase in headcount by 500 over the next 3 years and the appointment of Carl-Henrik Hallstrom as Regional Head for the region, effective July 1, 2013.

An industry veteran, Carl-Henrik in his previous role was associated with KPMG, Sweden, where he held the position of Head of Sourcing Advisory, Nordics. KPMG had globally acquired EquaTerra in 2011, where Carl was the Managing Director of EquaTerra's Nordic operations since 2005. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the IT and BPO outsourcing industry. As part of his rich experience, he has developed sourcing strategies and expertise in managing change programs for global companies in the Nordic region. Prior to KPMG, he held management positions in the Swedish IT industry in companies including Fujitsu Services, Daltek (publ) and Tandberg.

Carl-Henrik will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and report to Rajat Mathur, Chief Sales and Operations Officer, Growth Markets, Wipro. Wipro has identified Asia Pacific, Nordics, Germany, France, South Africa, Latam Countries as growth markets.
