BANGALORE: India’s third largest software exporter, Wipro Technologies and Massachusetts based Excelergy Corporation have signed a partnership agreement to jointly market, deploy and integrate the complete line of Excelergy platforms, including the CustomerPoint CIS/CRM solution. The latter is a major in high performance software platforms for critical business processes in the energy and utility industry and other complex value chains.

The alliance, which spans North America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, will combine the solution integration and support expertise of Wipro with the product-based software technology expertise of Excelergy. As part of the alliance, Wipro will provide technical helpdesk support to joint Excelergy-Wipro clients as well as development support for Excelergy's expanding software product lines, which now also include Excelergy Revenue Manager, Trader BackOffice, BusinessRunner and MarketRunner, among others. Wipro also plans to resell Excelergy products in select Asia-Pacific markets.

"It is becoming increasingly important for utility companies to seamlessly integrate front-end business processes with those at the back-end," said Tim Matlack, chief executive of energy and utilities at Wipro Technologies. "This is the hallmark of the CustomerPoint platform, and we're excited to join Excelergy in delivering a solution that maximizes customer revenue cycles, while minimizing the cost of customer service."

The CustomerPoint platform provides the most versatile, end-to-end customer relationship management, revenue management and billing system in the energy/utility industry. CustomerPoint enables industry best practices through a complete solution for marketing, sales, customer/partner/field management, billing, complex billing, settlement, customer value analysis and collaborative communications for utilities (gas, power, oil, water) and competitive energy marketers serving C&I and residential customers anywhere in the world.

"Because it offers a single, consolidated customer view across all commodities and products, CustomerPoint is truly the most innovative CIS/CRM available today for global energy and utility companies," said Bill Mahoney, president and chief executive officer of Excelergy. "Backed by Wipro's in-depth solution integration expertise in our target geographies, we are highly confident about the current and future prospects for our CustomerPoint solution."
